5 Top Outsourcing Mistakes to Avoid if You Own an Internet Ran Business

If you have made the decision to outsource this year for your Internet ran business in order to help raise profits and streamline your own work you will want to read the important tips below. The following items to avoid will help you plan better and by pass costly mistakes.

1. Make Sure You Know the Person You Hire: The number one mistake people make is not thoroughly interviewing the prospect. The fact that they work for you completely unattended can work for the good and unfortunately the bad. A simple phone interview and a few references from the person can easily give you a hint on whether they are trustworthy or not. People who are not worthy of your time and money won’t get good reviews from any past employers.

2.Unclear or Even No Communication Between You and Who You Have Hired: If you haven’t clearly layed out what it is you want done and exactly how you want it then chances are you are going to be disappointed with the final outcome of the particular job you have assigned. This person must be able to reach you quickly and easily with any questions that may come along. This will ensure that the job gets done exactly as you pictured it.

3. Not Planning How Much Money Will be Needed: Never go into outsourcing without negotiating exactly how your assistant wants paid and how much. Without this vital information you can be done for before even getting one project completed. We have discussed this in earlier articles on how versatile this can be. Some will charge by the hour, others per project and so on and also many in this line of work will expect a retainer to keep them on task for you only. So be sure you find out exactly what is needed financial wise.

4. Under Estimating What Your Outsourced Assistant Can Do: Again this falls in the line of getting to know this person well, their skills, the amount of time they can dedicate to your desired project and so on. It may be possible that they can work on more than one at a time for you or do more complicated jobs than you thought. Hone in on their particular talents and you will get far more out of the experience.

5. Over Stepping Your Role as the Outsourcer: Doing this can mean losing a very good worker and you don’t want that. Be aware that you may not be the only person they are working for, respect their time and again be very clear and concise when you must talk to them on the phone so as not to waste their time with unanswered questions and possible delays in the work. Also be sure to let them know how you feel about their work, positive feedback can mean better and better results with whom you have chosen to outsource to.

Just as any relationship takes work so will outsourcing however if you go into it with some important tips to avoid you will be assured a positive experience that will ultimately allow your business to prosper easier and faster than you ever thought possible.
