Email Marketing Combined with Multiple Advertising Strategies Equals Greater Success

Due to the popularity, ease and high success rate of email marketing, many marketing on the Internet tend to spend the majority of time on it for getting more traffic to their web site.
However when advertising your business one concept rings true and loud… It is that no single advertising method will be as effective as a combination of two or more combined. This does not mean it is necessary for you to implement every known advertising strategy to promote your business but rather it implies that it is worthwhile to market from a few different perspectives to help you achieve your business related goals.
This article will examine the importance of combining email marketing with other types of advertising strategies to create a successful; multi tiered marketing strategy and will also offer some advice on managing more than one advertising strategy at once.
As the old saying goes “Two heads are better than one.” This is most assuredly true when it comes to advertising your business.
You may enjoy a great deal of success with email marketing but this does not mean you should not try other types of online marketing such as search engine optimization of your web site, participation in and advertising on (where allowed) industry related forums, message boards and blogs, placing banner ads, orchestrating an affiliate marketing campaign and generating inbound links to your web site. While it is possible that not all of these advertising strategies will be effective for your business, you will find at least one other option which complements your email marketing and helps you to achieve your business related goals.
Alternately you may even wish to combine your email marketing campaign with more readily available advertising strategies such as classified and FFA advertising. Both of the above options, if done on the right sites can increase both traffic and your page rank within the search engines.
Each of these advertising strategies mentioned so far are all easy ways to generate more traffic to your web site. Unfortunately alone you may only get a few 100 hits… However, when combined together these strategies can create a powerful surge of fast traffic.
There is another very important result, of this method, as well. In addition to the larger amount of traffic it can bring your web site, sending out emails offering useful information about your products or services along with the purchase of banner ad space on web sites targeted to what you offer and participation / advertising on industry related message boards, forums and blogs will have a branding effect.
Branding is essentially a process in which consumers see a company name so often that they are more likely to select a product from this company when they are in need of an item the company offers.
Now let’s move onto managing more than one advertising strategy at once. If you are planning to combine multiple forms of advertising, you should be aware that this can make it difficult for you to evaluate the effectiveness of each advertising strategy. This is especially true of they are implemented concurrently.
When more than one type of advertising strategy is in effect, determining which strategy is producing the best results can be quite difficult.
The solution to this is simple. Use a good tracking system so that you can see what site each of your hits are coming from. As a matter of fact I would go as far as saying not to even try keeping up with combination advertising if you don’t use a tracking system that will help you discern where all hits are coming from. It would be pretty much a waste a lot of effort on your part.
One more tip in this area of seeing what strategy is working best is ask customers to answer survey questions or provide information such as how they learned about your business. This can be something as simple as adding it to your order form. You will be surprised how well this easy to implement method works.
Once you have done this for a while it will not be long before you find just the right combination of advertising strategies for your business to thrive on the Internet.
