Build Your Own List Into the Thousands with Free Product Giveaways

One of the most powerful ways to build your list currently on-line today is via what is called “jv giveaways” or “free product giveaways”. Although they have only been in existence for a few years they have really developed into a very productive mutual partnership for both Internet business owners and those looking to increase the numbers on their mailing list.
What this consists of is a group of mailing list owners and online business owners’ partner together in what is called a Joint Venture (JV) and pool in their individual gifts in one limited-time event.
This limited time effect is what makes these events so successful. There is just something about only having a small amount of time to do something that gets people excited and motivated to get with it right then and download the gifts before they are gone.
Those that are involved in the JV end of the giveaway are called contributors. Each participating jv partner contributes a gift to the event. The gift can be a free e-book, training courses, a quality piece of software, a membership pass, a product they are already selling, etc.
Participating partners prepare a Lead Capture/Squeeze Page where the gift is given in exchange for the subscriber’s email address. In other words, in order for a visitor to download the digital gift, he must opt-in and subscribe to your mailing list. The majority of giveaway events require this actually.
However currently many JV hosts are allowing you to also choose to give the joined members the gift without making them opt-in.
If you choose this option make sure your gift is viral and some how leads the participants to various links that encourage them to opt-in to one of your lists. Because building your list is the primary reason for even participating as a contributor in a free giveaway. But giving them gifts without requiring an initial opt-in can also have its benefits, such as allowing them to visit you via your viral gift after the event is over and there is not so much pressure on them.
When the gifts are pooled together into one event (the free giveaway web site), every jv partner will then endorse the Give Away event to their own mailing lists.
This results in tons of members joining one event as a joint venture effort of several people at once! You can reach 1000′s of people via this method that you could never do on your own.
This is truly a win-win situation in which the joined members get to download several free gifts for their own use and every jv partner gets to build their own mailing list!
There are always several free product giveaway events going on at any given time, so keep your eyes and ears open and get into the next one you hear about. Either as a member or a contributor you will come out the other end better off than when you went in. Just keep in mind when you are a contributor you stand to gain far more, by adding to your own opt-in list.

Nice, I was searching for something along the lines of this. I was wondering, do you think newsletters are still an good way of marketing online? Does anybody still use them successfully and actually get readers?

Francesca, thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it. To answer your question yes I think newsletters and ezines are still a very good way to market online. Especially when you keep them web based and within a quality content manager such as wordpress. This ranks well in search engines and I receive much traffic leading to various content in my ezine. Which in turn keeps my site very active. I currently have over 500 registered users combined with this ezine and they are very responsive, great members.
